I didn't miss my 6D after getting the 5D3 some years ago, but it had great IQ. 5D3 also has dual card slots and other advantages. Nevertheless, a photo won't be any good if it is out of focus, and the 5D3 has significantly better AF than the 6D. However, I think the 6D did have a more significant edge in low light. While I love the 6Ds, the difference in image quality between it and the 5D3 is very small. Is there some technical specifications that Canon doesn't release that makes the 6D better in these aspects? As the Great B says, the difference is inconsequential and I would agree with that for the 99.99% of folks who want to wield their cameras like machine guns and think tripods, timers and cable releases are uncool. Depends on how much of a pixel peeper you are. The only technical difference I can find between the two (image-wise) is the 5D mk III has slightly higher max resolution and slightly a slightly higher megapixel count (which shouldn't matter, right?) Canon EOS 6D Mark II vs Canon EOS 5D Mark III Let's read on the following sections in order to better understand in detail how Canon 5D MIII and Canon 6D compares and hopefully end up with enough arguments to decide which one is better for you. They both have the same Digic 5+ Processor.

#Canon 5d mark iii vs 6d full#
how is this possible? They both have the same full frame sensor size.

I have read across many different posts that the 6D has better image quality and better low-light performance than the 5D mk III. Ain't the same thing really although it is a feature that can help obtain better IQ in circumstances that lend themselves to such a feature as would the afore-referenced features of the 5D3 that can help obtain better image quality. The 6D has the ability to focus to -3 EV which many have translated into a better low light IQ. And has features that may help obtain better image quality in real world applications.
